Health Care Reform - Another issue

Patients without insurance are often charged more, frequently much more, than would be paid by a reputable insurance carrier.

A patient who is willing to pay at the time of service (cash or credit/debit card) should never be charged more than the lowest negotiated payment made be an insurance company under like circumstances. Since insurance companies require lots of documentation and seldom pay quickly, a low documentation and quick payment solution should actually be better for the health care provider than insurance coverage.

Health Care Reform - Minimum Requirement

In any health care reform it must be possible for me to obtain exactly the same coverage, at the same cost to me, as that available to my congress member, senator, or any of their staff.

Same cost, same coverage, same limitations.

If a "public plan" is part of this package, the congress member and senator must use that plan rather than any of the private insurance options.

No congress member or senator may pay for or obtain coverage or treatment beyond that provided by the government insurance plan.
