When a politician says "fight"

As in "I'll fight for you" in some way it seems that the speaker is most often of the "Democratic Party" persuasion. Is that your observation too, or am I just mistaken.

"Fight" isn't something I'd like to see my government representative do. "Work" would seem to be a better word choice.

I don't think you're mistaken, and I also believe that I'll fight my own fights. I don't need any politicians to fight for me.

Although we heard a quote - I believe it was from the ex-mayor of Dallas, Ron Kirk. He said, "If you were a tall skinny black kid with big ears who's name rhymes with 'yo mama,' then you ought to be able to fight." Or somthing like that.

But yeah, I'm with ya.
